Colorado Rocky Mountain High (sorry)

Sorry for the opener but it is very high around here.  Yesterday we hit about 12,500 feet in elevation.   Everywhere we look there are peaks at 14,000 feet and the towns are at 8,000 and above. We wanted to bag Mt. Yale of the Collegiate Range west of Buena Vista but the weather wasn't cooperating so we settled for Brown Pass and some unnamed peak just above that pass.  Gorgeous hike with the weather passing through in various shades of fall, snow, sleet, wind and the like, throughout the day.  Some snow high on the peaks but just a skiff right now.  I know it is the same in JH and it looks from our point of reference that winter will arrive with a bang.
Today we are back in BV waiting on repairs to our Jeep which suddenly lost the blinker function completely.  Had a run of mechanical issues lately, must be nearing the end of that vortex or just entering it, not sure which.

Dear Toni & BK,
I wish I create adjectives to describe the photos and notes in your journal. The scenery is so foreign to me, they leave me spellbound and breathless. And the two of you look as though you've been given the gift of utter pleasure...just short of
heaven.

Thanks for sharing your glorious adventure for the rest of us to enjoy. Keep 'em coming...but only if it doesn't become a chore and don't let the little things get you down.

Love and hugs, Barbara & Don

Hi BK and Toni,

I guess the idea of the blog is to log on and not patiently wait for an e-mail alert. I will always be the last to catch on... In any case, I got to catch up on all of the latest chapters of this magnificent story you are both writing. The photos are great, as are the descriptions. I hope you never tire of sharing them as I'm sure we will never tire of reading about them. Hope your mechanical problems stay within the realm of minor rather than major, but on the bright side, the slower the pace, the better. And more time to write your blog! Love to you both-
Valerie
